IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM RIC AIRPORT OPERATIONS!
SUBJECT: Runway 2/20 67-day closure
Runway 2/20 (6607’) at Richmond International Airport (KRIC) will close on Monday, February 16, 2026, for 67 calendar days (2/16/26 to 4/24/26). The reason for the closure is construction activity in the Runway Safety Area (RSA) associated with the Taxiway Charlie-Echo Relocation Project. In addition to the runway closure, the midfield portion of Taxiway Charlie, Taxiway November and Taxiway Uniform 2 will also be closed. Runway 2/20 will be available for crossing at Taxiways U1, U4, E, and H. Runway 16/34 (9003’) will remain open and available for air traffic operations through the duration of this closure.
Please note, that some of the typical route to and from Runway 16/34 will be impacted by these closures and could result in longer aircraft taxi-times.
