Runway 2/20 will close for scheduled monthly maintenance.  Maintenance activities include grass cutting and vegetation control, and repairs and preventive maintenance on airfield lighting systems, signs, and navigational aids (NAVAIDS), pavement repair, rubber removal, and painting/refreshing runway markings.

Closures are typically scheduled for four hours, however, are sometimes extended depending on the volume or complex nature of the work.  Closures are carefully coordinated with Air Traffic Control with activities overseen by the RIC Airport Operations department.
